About

Originally from Holland, Erna made the move to France in 2020 with her husband Paul and their dog, Rio. Now, they’re living the good life in a cozy country house perched on a hill between Lubersac, Arnac Pompadour, and Segur le Chateau.

Hi, I'm Erna!

I'm an illustrator and artist, I split my time between creating illustrations for books, working on commissioned art, and expanding my range of posters and cards.
I love the mix! Most days, you’ll find me working away in my snug little studio.
I usually work with pencil, dip pen and ink, and watercolors. There’s something really fun about creating standalone illustrations for cards or taking artwork from a bigger project and giving it a fresh purpose as a greeting card.
I just love the idea of someone opening an envelope to find a little surprise image inside—kind of like the excitement of turning the page of a book!

My inspiration mostly comes from nature and animals. Plus, with my background in interior design, I have a real soft spot for sketching old houses and buildings. A house portrait makes such a special, unique gift—or a beautiful keepsake to remember a home or place.

And if you’re thinking about a pet portrait, I’d absolutely love to hear about your furry (or not-so-furry) friend. Tell me all about their personality and quirks, and I’ll create something that really captures who they are—a forever keepsake for your home.

My mission is to delight people with unique art that touches the heart and puts a smile on people’s faces.

Love to hear from you. XX
